Populate Paste Special List

Salutations,

I'm running on XP and Word 2000. The listing in my Paste Special
dialog box only lists "Unformatted Text" and "Unformatted Unicode
Text". How do I populate this list to include more?

Ultimately, my problem is that I cannot *preserve* formatting when
copying text from one document to another.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Nicky

Hi Nicky
Have you tried just paste on it's own instead of paste special. This
will bring all the formatting with it. If you find that your
formatting changes once you pasted the text into your document, this
may be because of styles. Shauna Kelly has some really good advice on
document formatting on her site at www.shaunakelly.com.

Thanks for your input. I checked out Shauna Kelly documentation, but
my solution wasn't there.

In my case, it turned out that there was a component installed called
PDF Complete that was installed, causing copy/paste problems. Not sure
where PDF Complete came from (if it was shipped with the OS or came
from some other 3rd party software installation), but once it was
removed, it Word as it should.

Thanks again!
