Populate via XML, edit and submit via XML

Hi, (InfoPath 2003)
I'm currently populating some fields in a Form via an XML as secondary
source, however when submitting or saving these data get lost. How can I get
these data to stay around in the Form.
(The input via the secondary source is used to simulate a web service
request to be implemented later. User should then edit some of the fields and
submit as an XML in accordance with the schema defined with the main source.)

If you want the data to stay around, you need to move it to fields in the
Main data source of the form. Data in secondary data sources of a form is
never stored in the XML of the form; only data that is in the Main data
source of a form is stored in the XML of the form.
