Populated a field

I want to begin tracking when data was imported into my current table
tblmember. In order to do this, I want to add a field called date, and
prefill existing data with a date from last week aka 07/09/08. Then as I
import new information weekly, I can prefill that with the current date.

Can anyone explain how to PREFILL a current table with over 50,000 members
with a specific date?

Use an update query.
To prefill each new record use Date() as default property.
