portable templates?

Hi,

I created a template with toolbar and a lot of vba code for automating
document layout etc.
The documents - based on this template - are created at my custommers
company. But these documents must be checked by external companies who don't
have my special template.
The documents are send to the external companies by employees who don't know
much about templates.
What can/should i do to make sure that the external companies can access the
template's toolbar and use the other automating funtions?

I forgot something:
If the changed document is returned to the custommer, the link to the
original template must be restored...

Send the template to the external companies, and have them install it
in their user template folders. See:

Hi Stefan, thanx for you quick answer.

One more question on the subject:
The template directories of all the companies involved, will be different. I
guess that the link between document and the template wil be lost. What can i
do about it.
Or am i wrong?

If the link between a document and its template has been lost, you can
re-attach it via the Tools | Templates and Add-Ins dialog box
(Templates tab).

As Stefan says, you can re-establish the link between document and template
if it gets broken but I wouldn't expect you to need to do that. Word does
not automatically change the link just because it temporarily uses a
(physically) different template.

As an alternative approach, you can send template and document together in
the same folder and Word should use that copy of the template providing it
remains in the same folder in the other company - zipping up a folder
containing both should make that a straightforward operation. Again, the
link should not be broken but if it is you can re-establish it at will.
