Portfolio Analyser/OLAP views not saving!

Hi there

I am trying to save aview I've created from a freshly built cube (reports that it's been built every morning 1:00am)
Strange thing though, on the server when trying to create the view it will only let me drag Data fields into the chart, nothing else.

On the client side I can drag fields into both the pivot table and chart from but when I save it gives me an error and IE stops responding.

I have not installed SP1, would that work?

Could it be MDAC?

Roger:

In order to work with the full functionality of the cube in Project Server
2003, you must have an Office 2003 application installed on the workstation
you're working on. The OLAP cube functions use Office Web Components and the
functionality of the web components is determined by your Office version.
For Project Server 2002, you need Office XP. By the way, having a copy of
Project Pro qualifies. So, it won't work on the server because you don't
have Office installed on your server.

The error may very well be related to MDAC, or maybe your machine is running
out of memory. It takes less time to upgrade MDAC than it does to ask about
it, so I'd go ahead and eliminate that possibility by upgrading.

Hi Gary

I have checked MDAC version, 2.8
Office Web Components is on the client machine, Office 2003

is it possible that the MDAC needs to be redone?

Roger:

Maybe. It could also be a permissions problem. Diagnostics on problems like
this is not easy when the most likely culprit is eliminated.

Thanks Gary, I'll keep trying

Could Active Directory permissions prevent the client machine from saving
the view?
I am logging on with a domain user that is in the OLAP Admin group on the
SQL server.
