Portfolio analyzer: analyzing task data

N

Nikander Bruggeman

I want to use project server 2003 to collect existing (non enterprise
projects) and use project pro to create new enterprise projects. Next,
I would like to use the portfolio analyzer to do analysis on the
contents of the tasks within projects, like 'the duration of a given activity
analyzed by custom dimensions 'region' and 'project manager'.

If anybody has any tips or good places for more information about this
it would be very welcome!

Nikander:

You'll need to start by customizing the OLAP cube to contain task-level
data, which it does not contain out of the box. Go to
http://www.projectserverexperts.com and select the link for Project Server
Downloads to obtain Hugues Perron's tutorial and sample code on the subject.

Thanks a lot, Gary, I'll check it out. Btw, I recently bought your book, good stuff!

Kind regards,
