Portfolio Analyzer Data Anomaly

Doug Schurman

I have a regular Portfolio Analyzer view the I use weekly to show the break
down of billable and non billable work. To do this, I originally created a
custom Outline Code for Task. There are two values in the list, Billable and
Non Billable. This is also a required field. You can not save any project
without each and every task having this set.

For the last several months, everything has worked fine and we could easily
report on how much work was done on billable tasks versus non billable tasks.
Now all of the sudden in the Portfolio view I'm getting a data option of no
value for many of the time records. I can't figure out what happened. I have
tried rerunning the cube, recreating the report from scratch and still the
same thing, many time records have no value as their billable type.

Any thoughts on what happen and what I need to do to correct this?

Doug,

As a first step make sure that all the fields have correct value on a
task/project level. However, this should not cause the issue since you said
the field is a required field.

You write that you have already tried "re-running the cube", what are the
exact actions that you have performed here? Have you physically deleted the
cube in SQL Analysis Service? Maybe you also need to truncate the cube
tables...

Am I correct in assuming that you're using PS2003?
