Portfolio Analyzer problem

Hi All,

I am having some issues running portfolio analyzer. If I use a
workstation that is connected to the same network where my server is
connected but not logged in to the domain where the server belongs to,
Portfolio Analyzer do not work. But if I use another workstation that
is logged in to the domain, I don't have any problem running Portfolio
Analyzer.

Is there any workaround to make the Portfolio Analyzer work for
stations not logged in to the domain where my server belongs to?

Our current setup is Project Server 2003 running on MS SQL2000

Thanks in advance.

That is an infrastucutre issue. What you could do is ensure that the domain
your other computer is working on is a trusted domain to the domain of
Proejct Server. Then you will probably need to change the internet browser
settings of your desktop to allow dataconection accross domains and this may
do the job

Hi Marc,

Thanks for the response.

In our setup, we sign on using Novell to connect to the network.
Everytime we use the PWA, it asks for our domain login (same domain
where the server belongs to). I'm not sure if anyone here have come up
with the same setup as ours. Other functions in PWA are okay, only
using Portfolio Analyzer that is having some issues. I have also set
the data connections across domains in IE but still it does not work.

Hi Noynoy,

sorry I wish I could help, but I dont know enough about Novel networks. What
I am pretty sure of is that the issue that you are facing is network related.

Hi Marc,

I found out the solution while searching about Novell network in this
discussion group. I need to setup the user locally in the server same
as the one I had in Novell and grant the local user access to OLAP
cube (Manage roles in Analysis Services).
