Portfolio Analyzer view vs Timesheet

ABG

In MS Project Server 2003 PWA (Project Web Access), the "Actual Work
Protected" hours being reported in a Portfolio Analyzer view is not matching
the hours users are entering on their timesheet. This problem does not apply
to all projects or users. We think the date range for building the cube is
accurate and its building it successfully. Has anyone ran into this issue?
Thanks!

Are they way off, or slightly off? The latter may be normal as the
distribution algorithms are different between the two.

ABG,

I am having the same problems. My hours were off by as much as 80 hours. I
compared data reported by Portfolio Analyzer with data from the resource's
time sheet and found the discrepencies. For us, this problem is not limited
to a single project, resource, or date.

It does happen when projects are not published properly and there is a
difference of time in web tables and view tables in project server database.
Try republishing the project and see if you are receving any kind of spooler
error. Make sure hours were approved before the cube is build.

We've checked that but are still experiencing descrepencies. We're not
getting any spooler errors. This problem has occured in multiple projects.

Thanks,

We are experiencing this exact problem as well and are looking for a
solution to this.

What is the difference between 'Actual Work' and the Actual Work Protected'
dimensions? The Actual Work dimension seems to be an accurate reflection of
resources timesheets updates but the Actual Work Protected dimension has
slightly different data. Where is it pulling data from?
