I am attempting to install the Reporting Services tier onto a SQL Server
2005 box. Portfolio Server 2007 is on another box and is functional. This
SQL Server box has the SQL Reporting Services installed on it. When I get
to the screen for the database connection information, I am choosing
"Connect to existing Portfolio Server Databases". The Primary Database
Server name is (local), and I have also tried the actual server name with no
difference.
The Data Databasename is greyed out, and the Index Database name says
"PPSAccountIndex". I am using SQL Authentication and have verified that the
account has rights to the databases. However, it always comes back with the
error "Cannot find database PPSAccountIndex". For grins, I told it to
"Create new databases" instead, and then it says "Database PPSAccountIndex
already exists. You cannot select an existing database"
How in the hell can it see that it exists if I choose to create new
databases, yet tell me it doesn't exist when I want to use an existing
database?
I have tried using the SA account, as well as Windows Authentication and get
the same results. The SQL Server 2005 box is Standard Edition SP3, and is
sitting on Server 2008 Standard. I have also tried running the install on a
2003 box and get the same results.
Has anyone seen this before, and better yet, have a solution? This is
driving me insane!
Thanks!
