Hi all,

I have installed PPS 2007.

When I try to load the web site I get the following error:

"Trial version expired or invalid product key."

After digging around I found out that my web.config is not fully configured
by the installer:

<add key="Main.DigitalProductID" value="[DPID]"/>

How can I set this DigitalProductID with real value?
Can I contact PSS to resolve this issue?

Please advise.

Background Description

When your 180-day trial license of Microsoft Office Project Server 2007
expires, you must upgrade to a full license in order to preserve your data
and server configurations.

Resolution

Follow these steps to upgrade your license type:

1. From the Start menu, select Programs, Microsoft Office Server, and
SharePoint 3.0 Central Administration
2. In Central Administration, on the top link bar, click Operations
3. On the Operations page, in the Upgrade and Migration section, click
Convert license type
4. On the Convert License Type page, in the Enter the Product Key box, type
the new product key.

After you insert the new key the system displays a message that activation
was successful. The server must be rebooted.

Hi Gary,

I thought that managed groups are the actually the same as the public ones.
It just depends what alias you are posting the message from and I am uisng
my subscription alias now.
Is there any other group on PPS available other than this one?

Martin:

MVPs have access to partner support groups through the privatenews server.
However I believe this all migrated to a new platform as of this month, so
you should check with your MVP lead to find out how to access these in the
new world. If you happen to be or work for a partner, you can get to these
through the Partner Portal. I'm sorry to say that I don't know where the MVP
door is, and frankly I'm not happy with the move off NNTP. I should also
note that MVPs were recently provided with a beta of a newsreader bridging
software so that they could continue to use newsreaders for access. It
hasn't gotten very favorable reviews in the MVP community, but it is a
Dot-something version playing to a very tough audience.<g>

Dear Martin Kulov ,

This is Suresh G working as Office Project Server 2007 Admin,
recently i happen to install Project Portfolio server 2007 in one of our
customer palce.The deployement went well (As per Microsoft Deployement
Guide-All application are installled in Single Server-i.e PS-2007 SQL 2005
SP2 and PPS 2007)with out any error.

When i am trying to hit the Portfolio web which is created at the
time of installtion i am getting the same error(Portfolio Server "trial
version expired or invalid product key), which you have received.

I too searched in web, but unable to get the correct solution. Did
you got any solution for this error?
If you share your solution with me, really it will be more helpful to sort
the poroblem. Kindly reply to me.
