I am getting the following error when I try to export my projects from MOPPS
to MOPS via any method in MOPPS:
"The project 'Test' cannot be exported to Microsoft Office Project Server
2007 due to the following reason(s): The resource plan cannot be created
because one or more resources have not been configured correctly in Microsoft
Office Project Server 2007. In order to enable creation of resource plans
upon project export, each resource specified in the Budget Resource tab must
have a corresponding resource in Microsoft Office Project Server 2007 where
the name of the resource matches the name of the resource competency."
I believe the problem is more than just a name missmatch (and I have tried
to follow the instructions in the error with generic resources with the
correct names), however although in MOPPS Settings the "Synchornize Resource
Pools" option seems to work without error, my "Resource Pool - Original
Availablilty" is still showing 0 for all Resource Types.
I am also a little confused what "Resource Competency" is in MOPPS, is that
"Resource Type"?
What I have done is matched EXACTLY the MOPPS "Resource Type Custom Field"
values with my MOPS "Resource Role" resource level custom field. However that
means my PPS lookup table is something like this: (to match my CF code mask)
Dept1.RoleName1
Dept2.RoleName2
etc
Is this right?
Do my PPS "Resource Type" names also need to match that exactly? Or should
the following which is what I have work:
PPS Resource Type names (each matched to a field as above):
RoleName1
RoleName2
Which match my MOPS Generic Resources with the same names:
RoleName1
RoleName2
Which are also mapped to the resource level custom field above.
Can anyone see what I am missing? I can't find anything on this online, and
I have tried every permutation of the above names that I can think of but
still no luck!!
Also I have tried the following received from a former colleague with no luck:
"You need to create in MOPS the same Resource meaning:
the Resource Names MUST match exactly (not only the competency) in both
systems
the Resource Type in MOPS MUST be Generic
the resource Type in MOPS can not be a Budgeting Resource
if you export from MOPPS to MOPS and checkmark 'Create Resource Plan', the
system will create a Resource Plan
if you import the same project from MOPS to MOPPS, after you exported it,
you loose all Budget information you have entered in MOPPS as the import is
based on the Work for the generic resources in regular Tasks...."
Anyone?
