portrait and landscape *&%$#@!!!

Randy Allen

O.K., here goes...
I have Word X for Mac and am using OSX version10.1.5. Today I tried
for HOURS to print on the back of a postcard positioned vertically in
the printer. What has me baffled is that in the print preview,
everything looks fine. All the words are correctly positioned on the
sheet of paper. But when I try printing, it doesn't print in the same
orientation as on the prieview page! My paper size was set to custom
size, but I cant imagine that would have anything to do with it. What
I need is a step by step instruction to see where I'm going wrong. To
make a long story short... how do you switch from "portrait " to
"landscape" modes using Word and OSX? Help!!!
Thank You,
Randy

Hi Randy,

I'm pretty useless when it comes to printer problems, but I know this much:
Switching from Portrait to Landscape is best done in Page Setup (File Menu).
Experiment with various settings there (including changing paper size,
perhaps) and see if you can correct the problem.

It's also possible that your document(s) are formatted for "Any Printer"
instead of the printer you are using. Close all your documents, open your
Normal Template (Applications> Microsoft Office X> Templates), use Format>
Document> Page Setup and chose the name of your actual printer in Format
For.

Hope this helps.
