portrait report cut off

Hello,

I have created a portrait report. All the information fits well inside the
report, but there is some sort of shadox box around the grouping field, which
I didn't add, which is running onto a second page. I can't figure out how to
take it off.

Make your report narrower in Design view. It needs to be the Width of your
paper minus both side margins. Err on the side of stinginess. What you
descibe sounds like the edge of a shaded section.

Select file, page setup and try to set the margins to 0.166
