POS general store and Ad user plus help with setup

My daughter has a very small retail store -pet supplies - and she
needs to keep better track of inventory etc. She is considering using
"General Store" as her POS system.
The bundle comes with hardware amd 3200/ 20 hard-drive, software, back-
up, manual etc.. She also has a computer in which she wants to use as
a server(not sure that this correct use of word) GS has advised her to
add : AD user, cable and switch.
I have limited knowledge of computers but a little more than her.
Will the AD user allow her to network info to the server? Is this
complicated? Does she need a seperate program (software) to hold the
information?
I am sure I have more questions but would like to first make contact
with knowledable source.

Don't know just where would be the best place(s) to seek help other
than your local system service vendors. There must be newsgroups that
can help. Maybe visit groups.google.com and start googling for
various terms.

The most useful help I can give with confidence is that this isn't the
place for those issues> This newsgroup supports Microsoft Access the
Relational Database software platform.
