positioning elements

Hi, I am a total newbie to access and I am not a programmer. I have been
editing a report in design view and am repositioning some of the elements. I
have 4 text boxes, one under the other and I want even spaces between them. I
have unticked 'snap to grid'. When I reposition the third text box down and
then view it in 'preview report' mode it has far too much space above it. So
I go back into design viewand reposition it a tiny bit higher, go back into
preview mode and it then has far too much space below it. It is infuriating!
I have been able to reposition the other text boxes in small increments just
fine. Any ideas why this is happening?

There may be another control to the left or right that is set to allow
growing.
You can select multiple text boxes and set them equal spacing by selecting
Format->Vertical Spacing->Make Equal.
