Possible Bug in Microsoft Word XP

Greets! Here is what I did to produce this error.

1) Opened a .dot file.
2) Clicked Save As.
3) A dialog box came up, but I got distracted and went
back to explorer for a moment. Word is running in the
backround with the Save As dialog up.
4) Double clicked a word file.
5) Says "Word cannot perform that function". No bomb,
just a little alert message that comes up.

And...? How can Word open a document with a dialog waiting for some user
entry: it can't. So the alert message is correct.
