Bug in Word 2007 (SP1)

Hello,
i have found a bug in Word 2007 (updates up to time - 2007-10-10).

Symptomps: When scrolling document down or up, page content is 'duplicated',
this happens especially when scrolling between pages.

Note: This is not real copy of data or anything, it symply does not display
what is on the page.

When it happens:
Input field in footer with condition and image, for example:
{IF {PAGE} > 3 "{INCLUDEPICTURE "some_picture.png" \* MERGEFORMAT}" ""}
It does NOT matter if input field is in textbox or not.
This error is visible in PRINT LAYOUT.

Is there any way to bypass this bug?

Thank you very much

This could just indicate that your video driver is not capable of keeping up
with Word. You might try updating the driver or turning down the hardware
acceleration.

I just posted (again) the same problem.

First noticed this back in March and reported it and heard nothing.

I'll look into the video possibilities and report back.

I checked that however with my manufacturer and they said there were no
updates.

I'll see what I can find about turning down the accelleration.

Funny, this is the only program that happens in.

That's because Word is MUCH harder on both the graphics and video drivers
than most other application and if there is anything amiss with the drivers
or the graphics isn't up to scratch, Word will always show any deficiencies
first.

Yes, I can understand that Word may drive a display harder than other
applications.

I don't get why anyone would program a word processor to be so intensive. So
intensive that it overdrives a laptop that's less than a year old, with 3GB
of RAM, a dedicated graphics card and dedicated video memory?

I'm experienced enough that it would not surprise me if such were the case.
But still, if that's the fix, it becomes a "head shaker".

(And before anyone asks, when I was working on the class project that ran
40+ pages -- nothing fancy, just long -- I did shut off every other
application and cleaned out the system tray, trying to give every possible
system resource to Word, and the problem still occured.)

Yes, I'm going to be checking those too. Probably tomorrow.

In addressing a number of problems to stabilize things prior to a big
writing spree for school I've: run "repair" from the control panel on MS
Office, reloaded the video driver, cleared add-ons with Regedit per the Tech
Note, and changed default printers.

The crash on shutdown seems to be resolved, but I'm still leary. We'll see
how it goes this week. For the record things do *seem* more stable than
earlier in the week.

Yes, 40 pages is not long relative to some of the tech manuals and such I've
written in the past. But everything is relative. Compared to those who rarely
go more than three pages (and then only when they goof and set "Normal" to 72
point, it's longer.

Sorry for the whining, I just don't need this on top of grad school.

Tim
