Possible Bug - V-Cards attached to signature

M

Mickey

Hey there! We seem to be having a problem when we attach
a v-card to a signature. When the recipient opens it,
certain fields seem to get mixed up. The common problem
that we have found has been the business fax - which
appears in the e-mail field.

We have found this identical problem on two different
exchange servers.

Any idea what is happening and if there is a solution?

Again, do you mean Outlook 2000 and Exchange 2000? "MS 2000" is rather
cryptic.

Everything is 2000.

(and I really don't think there was anything cryptic in
my reply.)

Do you see the data in the wrong fields when you open the vCard file in
Notepad? There is definitely a problem with vCards for signatures: Outlook
uses the data from the AD entry, rather than what you put in the record in a
Contacts folder. A possible solution would be to save the vCard manually to
the C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application
Data\Microsoft\Signatures folder, overwriting the one that the signature
editor put there. Another workaround would be to edit the signature vCard
file in Notepad to correct it.
