I am always using one of three custom document templates to create new
documents.

Is is somehow possible to have the project gallery default to
displaying My Templates as my initial choice? (As opposed to the Blank
Document choice)

Hi Anthony -

Actually 2 ways you can go about this:

1- Go to Word>Preferences>File Locations, select User Templates, click
Modify, then navigate to the My Templates folder. Click Choose then OK out.

2- Go to File>Project Gallery - Customize, click the link for Local
Templates, then do as above.

Advantage of the second option is that you can at the same time remove
checks for any of the standard "blank document" items you don't use.
Otherwise they and the content from My Templates will all display
alphabetically as thumbnails. (If you use option #1 you can then go to the
Customize feature later.)

Thank you for your reply.

This completely answers my question. It is exactly what I was looking for.
