Possible to position new mail alert pop-up window?

I like seeing the pop-up alerts when I get new mail with a message preview. However, because of the way I have my desktop set up and the way I use it, I really don't like having the pop-up appear in the bottom right of the screen. Is there a way to configure these pop-ups to appear somewhere else instead, like the top right corner?

I've never used that feature, but in general you can change a window's
position by moving it, closing and when it reopens it might remember the
setting.

Try using growl instead it's default is the top right.

Use Growl with Entourage

Thanks Diane.

Unfortunately the pop-up window is fixed in position. It can be closed via a button, but it is immovable. Growl, and any other software really, is not an option due to my limited ability to install software on this machine.

The only other workaround is to use sounds to notify you. You'll have to add
the sounds, but that's not the same as installing an application. I don't
use the default sounds because just knowing I have new mail tells me
nothing. It could just be spam.

You can also use rules to play a custom sound to alert you to your more
important mail. I use Jolly's Play Sound application with a rule to get
customized sounds for certain categories of mail. To me this is much more
useful than the default sounds that do not distinguish between important
mail and spam.

You can even create your own sounds or use computer voices to announce your
mail. For example, you could have the AppleScript say ³Mail from Dad². I use
a combination of sounds for alerts mixed with voices. I have one alert that
can be heard all over the house it's so loud when I'm waiting on a really
important email.

I use these specific sounds for special mails. Examples:

If mail is in category:

Buddy... I hear the spoken text "buddy"
Friend... I hear spoken text "friends"
Work... I hear the "ships bell sound"
Support....the quack sound
Family...the "You've got mail" sound
Alerts....the alert sound...easy to hear this one in another room

The combination of spoken word and sounds makes it easy to identify the
notification.

Starting to get the picture of how useful this could be?
