Possible to set a target directory page display properties?

I'm using FP2002 to setup a "quick" (or so I thought) intranet page
with linked directory trees - in that, the branch links are simple
'file' pointers to target directories whose contents are then displayed
in the main area of a framed page.

Everything is operating well; with an intuitive click open/close tree -
the rub is, when a User selects a sub-branch, and the directory
content/files are listed in the main frame, the display defaults to the
'Tiles' icon view (view>tiles).
I'd like to auto-set the display properties to 'Details' (view>details)
on 'Open' in the frame target in order to read the associtaed file;
Size, Type, and Date Modified information - this also allows Users
additional sorting functionality.

FP/HTML/Java really isn't my forte; I'm famliar enough with it to do
"simple", but upon review, the PTB liked it so much they've asked for
this additional functionality. :-(

Any input is greatly appreciated.

You can not change the view of directories when directory browsing is set on (browser controlled)
- you could use some custom server side scripting (say ASP using the FSO)

Yup - that's what I was afraid of.

I've already involved a "real" developer to help with a "non-simple"
solution. :)

Thanks for the reply.
