Possible Word 2007 file Conversion Problem?

I recently loaded Office Home 2007. Whenever I update 1997-2003 format Word
files, I get an error message when I Close. Could there be a conflict with
an earlier version? Should I have uninstalled Word 2002 or is there perhaps
a problem with the file conversion feature in Word 2007?
