Post install Wizard hangs on configuration task 5 of 10

I'm trying to setup Project Server for evaluation purposes (i.e. single
server with SQL Express). The install seems to go fine, but the problem
comes when the "SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard"
runs-- it gets stuck on step 5. It doesn't fail with an error message, it
just sits there with the last message being that the indexing service was
successully installed [I don't have the exact verbiage b/c I hit cancel and
now it's been cancelling for about 30 minutes].

The application log does have an error reporting that "Content Index on
search could not be initialized". A Google search turns up a user on
eggheadcafe.com who said the workaround was installing everything on the C:
drive (something I'm not doing in the eval because I don't want to do it in
production). I haven't found anything helpful in the Microsoft KB.

Any ideas? Is there an "Office Project Server 2007 Slipstreamed with SP1" I
should be using? Much thanks in advance for your help...

Good news - I figured it out:

In addition to installing Project Server on the D: drive, I'd locked down
permissions on that drive to Administrators and System only (standard
procedure with server builds at some places!). By throwing Everyone/Full
Control back on to the file level permissions, the wizard finally stopped.
After restarting the wizard it zipped right through all 10 steps until
"Configuration Successfull"
