My original post did not show on my news server so I am sending it again. If
it comes across twice I apologize for any inconvenience.

I have been working on a site and have been trying to figure out how to
password/access certain areas. It is a photographers site. The clients would
log-in and go to the section with their pictures to view and pick out the
ones they want.
I can go into my server (ipowerweb) and password protect the folders that
host the show. But what form would I use on my login page?
I know that I could hyperlink to each index page within the protected folder
and put those links on my log-in page so that when clicked on a password pop
up screen would occur before accessing the folder. But I would rather not
have everyone's show listed on one page. I know there is some great
JavaScript that I can use (which are not secure) so username and password
but then went it accessed the folder there would be another more secure
password prompt. I think that would be irritating.
The guy that wanted this site wants to try and do things himself. I have
laid out the changing of the graphics, the photo gallery , etc where he
could easily pick it up and his wife is taking some classes. I have made it
super easy to take over. But the whole password seems to be losing my mind.
I know what I want, I want a log-in page where a person is directed to the
secure folder that is protected on server side.
1)easy to secure just login to cpanel and secure the folder and create the
user and password
2)easy script on the log-in page so that it can be easily manipulated with
each changing session.
Now I just need these two to mesh.
I have read and re-read about htpasswrd and htaccess but that is more
in-depth than I would like to go every photo session. It does not even have
to be all that secure, there is no benefit of personal information in the
picture directories. And this is something that the photographer would never
get
Can FrontPage do this? and if so how would I begin.
Thanks for all of the suggestions. I am a newbie this is my first solo
project that I started 2 months ago and I have learned so much about web
design and front page. This is the last area that I have been dealing with.
If you would like to check out the site and let me know any thing that needs
changed that would be appreciated.

(BTW) How much would a beginner charge for a layout like that? I did not use
a template I came up with that design. The photographer wanted his logo
everywhere so I make it the background and buttons. I made the buttons. Tell
me how much so I will see what kind of deal I got.
