Post Ofc 03 Sp2 install, can't find yi561401.cab...

Howdy,

I got the notice from office update that office 2003 sp2 was out and i
installed it the other day. It failed the first time so i tried the
larger files the second time and the install seemed to go fine. today
when i went to open word and i was pasting text from notepad to word
the windows installer appeared trying to install frontpage 2003...I get
to an error box that says, installation error: file not found...it was
looking for yi561401.cab from the original install cd. I insert the
ofc 03 cd and search on it however that file is not available on the
cd. where do i find this cab file to make the error go away? this
error appears every time i try and use word. would like to deal with
this without an uninstall/reinstall.

Is MS Office Frontpage 2003 listed in Add/Remove Programs
in the Windows control panel? If so you may need to run
a repair on it, although it could be that the Local Installation
Source (LIS/MSOCache) is damaged. If the cache is damaged
then it may continue to have problems, even after an Office 2003
and/or FrontPage 2003 'repair/reinstall'.

You may need to use the MS Office 2003 LISTool to repair the
cache. You can download the tool from here, then choose to enable
it for Frontpage 2003 to have it rebuild the cache.

Hi Bob,

MS Office FrontPage 2003 does appear in Add/Remove programs.

Here is the strange thing, I can copy random text from word and then
paste that text into another word doc and it works fine. If I paste
that same text into a text editor like notepad or textpad, then copy
that text from the text editor and try and paste it back into word, it
gives the error I describe above. Is there potentially a text
importer/converter that got dropped during the SP2 upgrade?

I'll try the tool you mention see if that does the trick.

Problem solved...I forgot that FP 03 did not come on the Ofc Pro 03 CD.
When I was getting the above error, i was inserting the Ofc CD, not
the FP CD. Tried pasting text from a text editor again and when the
dialog box appeared, I inserted the FP CD and the problem went away.
