Hi,

I have an Imac with Intel running OSX 10.4.8 and the latest update
from Microsoft. When ever I recive an ppt file via e-mail, when I
click it, it launches Powerpoint and then the application freezes.

Any idea?

Thanks

I have both a PowerMac G5 and a Mac Pro, and my father has an iMac
Intel, all running 10.4.8 with the latest updates for OS X as well as
Office 2004. We have this same phenomenon occasionally, but not all
the time. My hunch is that it has to do with Active-X controls in PC-
originating PowerPoint presentations, but it is only a hunch.
Some .pps or .ppt files make the application freeze on my Mac, some
don't... Some play back the included sound files, some don't... I
just ascribed it to imperfect compatibility between PC and Mac
versions of PowerPoint... Have you tried opening the offending files
in Keynote, if that is an option you can avail yourself of ?

Maybe the MacBU at Microsoft can enlighten us all...

Thanks !
