Power Point does not advance always during presentation

I am using Power Point 2003. I did 2 presentations last week and at
different times I pressed forward on the remote and the right arrow or the
down arrow and the frame would not advance. Any suggestions?

Click Slide Show > Slide Transition. Under advance slide, ensure that "On
mouse click" is checked.

Also, some animations that you have added may take time to animate. Thus,
performing a mouse click too soon will end the animation instead of advancing.
