Power Point doesn't open

When I try to open a Power Point document on my laptop it crashes. I have tried saving it to my desktop and opening it from there using Power Point but it still freezes. Any ideas?

My MAC is OS X 10.4.11 and the Power Point version installed in my laptop is 11.3.5
