power point file damaged

One of my power point file seems has damaged: I closed the
presentation I was editing. And then when I tried to open
that file again, the program told me that this file cannot
be read.

What might happen? And what can I do do repair this file?
p.s. This file has been open for edit for a long while
(about several days, the computer has been suspended for
several times during those days).

Thanks very much.
