Power point show setup.

I am using a lap top and a 42" plasma flat screen. I can view the
presentation on both. When I go to show set up it doesn't recognize thhe flat
screen. What could be the problem?

On the laptop you need to set the video card to extend the image to the
external monitor. Once that is done PPT can be set to presentation mode.

Right click on a blank area on the desktop. In XP click on Properties then
Settings tab, In Vista click on Personalize then Display Settings. Make
sure that the laptop's screen is set to monitor 1 and to verify when you
click on Monitor 1 you should see a check box in "Use this device as the
primary monitor" but it will also be grayed out.

Once at the settings tab left click on the monitor icon numbered 2 and then
click on the button for "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor" after
you have changed the resolution on this device to it's optimum resolution
(which will be in the documentation provided with your 42" screen.) Ok out
and then redo the PPT setup to presentation mode.

FYI, some laptops will automatically revert to the normal settings once the
external monitor has been removed but most will keep its changed settings.
If you move any program windows onto the extended area you won't be able to
see them once you unhook the external. Ensure that any windows have been
moved to the main screen before you unhook the external monitor.
