Power Point with Vista new laptop

I have a new laptop with Power Point Viewer 2007, and I got a attachment in
an email (I trust it) and has the file ext.pps
I have tried to open it, but get a msg. that says something about set
associations. I found where to set these and pps is already set up to open
with PPViewer. Shouldn't I be able to open these files? What else can I do?
Thanks,
JS

Try saving the file to your harddrive, then double-click to open it. Does
that work?
