powerbook and main machine password

I have a CD with 3 licenses on it: I have installed the same copy of
Office on my PB and my main machine (ok per the license), and now have
2 other computers using the 3 licenses on the network. I am getting a
"close down" on the third computer, because I suspect that the program
is reading my powerbook connection. I have uninstalled Office on the
Powerbook, but am still getting the error message on the third machine.
Is there a way to enter the cd passcode without doing a complete
re-install on the third machine? I have tried just replacing the
programs (Word, Entourage, Powerpoint and Excel). MSFT is still sensing
that Powerbook on the network, even though it is not there...EEK

There is a way to re-enter the license number without re-installing, see
here:

I'm not totally clear on what you did so here's what I think I know: you are
allowed to install the same license on the powerbook and the desktop, but
still not supposed to run them both at once, and running them applies to
Office, not to individual programs--i.e., Word on one license will conflict
with Excel on the same license. If you have a wireless network and a
wireless powerbook, yes, it is likely to see the powerbook even if you don't
want it to. Turning off airport on the pb should fix that, though. Quitting
all Office programs should also fix it (I wonder whether the MS Database
daemon could be causing this problem).

3 machines, 3 licenses should not give you any problems.

To remove Office, be sure to run the Office remove tool, not just drag to
the trash. Not sure what you mean by "tried just replacing the programs"
but it sounds unlikely to help at all.

Wow, thank you, I am going to work on this this afternoon. My husband
is going nuts. I think you are right on about the wireless network
detecting the Powerbook. I'll let you know what happens
though...thanks, Jane
