PowerBook G4 to MacBook Pro

I have just purchased a MacBook Pro and found that after using the
Setup Assistant, my Office v. X for Mac did not seem to transfer
across, instead I have immediately started a 30 day trial of Microsoft
Office Test Drive. What's happened? What will happen at the end of
the 30 days? Is there some way to upgrade to Office 2004?

Hello Trevor -

First of all, Yes, you can upgrade from Office X to Office 2004, but
regardless of whether you do or not you will have to Remove the Test Drive
*correctly*, then install the 'live' Office software. You will probably have
to reinstall Office X afterwards

For info on upgrading depending on whether you have Student/Teacher,
Standard or Professional Office X, see;

http://www.microsoft.com/mac/

For details on correctly removing the Test Drive (which evidently came
pre-installed on your system) -just dragging to the Trash *won't* do it - go
to;

http://www.microsoft.com/mac/default.aspx?pid=office2004td

It is a good idea to empty the Trash (restart or log out/in if necessary) &
Repair Permissions after the Test Drive removal as well as after the live
Office installation.
