Powerpoint 04 saving as PPXT

scott

Hi there

I am trying to save my powerpoint presentations (created on my imac
using office 04) so that they will open up in office 07 on a PC.
Apparently the file extension needs to be a .ppxt file.

In office 04 you can only save to cover all windows versions 97 -
2003.

The reason i need to do this is because i work for a company that
outsources its design to India. I need to produce my storyboard in
PowerPoint and then upload it to an ftp server. They then download it.
Their software could not open my files. They are now on MS office 07
for Windows and i need to make sure my Mac files are compatible.

Any suggestions???????

Scott

PS. Any ideas on when Mac office 08 is due out?????

The new file format is actually ".pptx".

That's odd. PowerPoint 2007 should be able to read .ppt files from earlier
versions of PowerPoint including PowerPoint 2004 for Mac within
Compatibility Mode

you sure to name the file with a .ppt extension?

In the meantime, you can try using the beta version of the standalone
converter to convert your .ppt file into a .pptx file:

Office 2008 for Mac will work use the new Office file formats. The release
is scheduled for January 2008.

The native format for PPT 2007 has a .pptx (not .ppxt) extension but your
version of PPT won't save to that file format.

If you give your files a PPTX extension, it's a little like putting a "Sugar"
label on the salt container. PPT2007 takes a taste, spits it out and says
"Wrong!"

PPT2007 can also open files from earlier versions of PowerPoint, including ac
2004, so you'd want to give your files the correct matching extension, .PPT (no
X)
