Powerpoint 2000 how to rotate a photograph

J

I am using PowerPoint 2000.
I have inserted a photograph onto a slide.
This photograph is lying on its side, how do I turn it so that the
photo is upright.
I have tried several ways, but the rotate icon etc., is greyed out.

Thank you friends Jim

Sorry Jim,
That functionality does not exist in PPT 2000.
I would suggest using "Windows Picture and Fax Viewer" or some other
application to rotate the picture before inserting it into PPT.

That functionality does exist in PPT 2002, 2003

Thanks for the information.
Can I extract that photo from the ppt slide back off into a photo
package to rotate it, before re=-inserting it ?

Yes,
I almost included that in my previous comments.

Quoting from PPT help file:

1. Select one or more objects to save as a picture.
2. Right-click the object or group and click Save as Picture.
3. In the File name box, type a name for the object or group.
4. In the Save as type list, select the graphics format you want, and
then click Save.
