PowerPoint 2000 Locks up on startup

All I get is a grey screen and I cant do anything, once I
press control-alt-delete I get a white system box stating
that I am dangerously low on system resources?!?! After
that I cant do anything.... all other Office Apps work
fine. MS Knowledgebase said to install SP1a, I did that
and no dice, so I went ahead and installed SP3 also, and
still nothing. I have tried to run it straight from the
executable also. I have also tried to install and
reinstall Powerpoint, i did not however take any hooks
out of the registry. Can anyone help.
