When Supplemental language support is
enabled with "Install files for complex
script .............. ", Powerpoint is not able
to display several characters in specific
fonts.
The following characters : #176, #177 and
180 (degree sign, plus-minus sign, and
acute accent repecitvely) will only display
in Arial font.
For example if you type any of these
characters in a sentence, highlight the
whole sentence and change into any other
font, the above characters will remain as
Arial while the rest will change.
Word 2002 allows the user to disable
certain language settings but Powerpoint
does not.
I hope somebody can help with this
problem as this effects thousands of users
who do presentations in foreign
languages without using Unicode.
Thank you.
P.S. Sorry for cross posting as the post I
made yesterday on this matter seems to
have been deleted. If there are any
specific rules I need to follow to post
here, please let me know.
