Hoping someone can solve this problem for me (or at least explain it). I've
seen a number of similar posts on other forums but no solution.
I have a number of AVI's encoded using the Indeo 5.1 codec which play fine
in all other versions of Power Point, but cannot get them to play in Power
point 2003. I have had the same problem on a number of machines and
installations.
Please note:
1) The issue is not related to path length. The same occurs with
presentations and source files in root folders
2) These play fine in both Windeow Media Player and mplay32.exe
3) Uninstalling Powerpoint 2003 & Installing any older version allows these
to play normally
4) They even play fine in a dual installation of Powerpoint XP on the same
partition !
5) I am running Win XP & Office 2003 with all latest service packs
6) Same problem occurs on machines with nVidia, Radeon & Matrox video cards
7) No joy from changing mardware acceleration
Grateful for any ideas or advice. I've got heaps pf stuff encoded and
recoding with another codec will take ages.
Cheers.
