Powerpoint 2003 - Charts Legend Problem

S

Supereen

I have some charts created in Powerpoint 2003 - my problem is with the
legend. My legend shows the following in the data entry part of chart:

Drug A 200mg/d (n=151)*

However the legend is showing the parenthese in the wrong place - it
shows as

)*Drug A 200mg/d (n=151

So its cutting it off at the end and placing it at the beginning. I
have a couple of charts this is happening to and can't figure out how
to fix it.

That legend works perfectly for me in 2003.

Any more details to go on?

I can't repro it here, but it sounds to me as if you just need to select the
legend and resize it, probably both horizontally and vertically.

Or you can try making the font size smaller. (Be sure to turn off the font
autoscale.)

As a bit of an aside, you might find http://www.echosvoice.com/charts.htm
interesting.

Worse comes to worst, you could make a copy of the chart, ungroup it, and
fix the legend that way. Drag the original chart off the slide so it doesn't
show, but so you have it if you need it. Right-click it and choose Format
Object and set the size to 5% x 5% if you want to keep your slide from
jumping around in your main editing window because of the large object (the
original chart) on the pasteboard.
