PowerPoint 2003 - Control Toolbox Toolbar

Andy

Hi all,

I need to create a slide that will accept users input using PowerPoint
2003. I have a basic slide with a question and beneath this I have
added a Text Box using the Control Toolbox Toolbar. I have changed
some of the properties e.g. background color, text color, allow enter
to be pressed, allow multiple lines and also the insertion of a
vertical scrollbar if the users entry requires this.

What I need to know is:

Can the user fill this form in normal view and slide show view? At
the moment slide show view is fine but they have to right click and
choose Textbox Object > Edit.

Is there any way of securing the slide so only the text box is
available to the user, i.e. they cannot tamper with the questions or
other content.

Is this really only an option for the person who created the slide
show? (say they wanted to keep notes as they work along or similar).

Is there any other options that would be better for what I require?
Any tutorials, links etc. would be great.

Thanks for your help,

Andy

No. Controls are active in Slide Show view only.

You could create a version of the slide w/o the text box control (or
make it invisible) then export the slide as an image; then bring the
image back in, send it to back and delete everything else, leaving only
the image and the text box control.

If you set the image as the background rather than just importing it,
it'll be that much better ... the user won't be able to select it.

You could also add a bit of code to any events triggered by the text box
control: move the control back to where you want it to be.

It might be simpler if you chose slide show or normal view, one or the
other, to work in.
