PowerPoint 2003 Password problem

I have XP Pro, Powerpoint 2007. My PPT 2003 files always worked before with
my password. These are important files. But I now get the error message now
that says, "Password is Incorrect." I do not get the option anymore to "Read
Only" these files. I know the password is correct because it is the same one
that opens my 2007 Powerpoint .pptm files. Does somebody have an answer?

Thank you, 89052

If you'd like to email me the file and the password, I can see if it opens
here in PPT 2007 with SP1. I'm getting ready to install SP2, so I can check
it again against that version. It could be an SP2 thing.

Hi EchoS:

I would like to send you the file but the smallest one is 28MB. I can't zip
it more. Any suggestions?

Following up...

The file opens fine here, both before and even after I installed SP2.

Your password is really complicated. I copied it from Notepad and pasted it
into the prompt box. How are you inputting it?

Also, in the past we've seen some issues where passworded files cannot be
opened read-only. I believe this usually happens with roaming profiles,
where the user is on a machine that's not their "base" machine. Are you
using a roaming profile?

I tried to open it my file the same as you, off the clipboard. I am not
using a roaming profile. I read the MS article on how to construct a
password and used their advice. That is why it is complicated. I am
surprised you opened it so easily. I will reinstall or repair PowerPoint
2007 and see if that helps. Thanks for letting me know that the password
works.

Make sure you're not getting an extra space or something when you copy the
password...
