PowerPoint 2003 Upgrade

D

Dom

I have Microsoft Office 2003 (Basic) installed on my machine. It includes
Outlook, Excel and Word. I would like to install the Upgrade version of
PowerPoint 2003.

One of the qualifying products for the PowerPoint 2003 upgrade version is
Microsoft Office 97 Small Business Edition. I have my original CD of this
product. I also have the CD of the upgrade version of PowerPoint 2000.

Will I need to actually install PowerPoint 97 or 2000 on the machine before
it will do the upgrade, or will it ask me to point to the drive (cd rom
drive) where it can find the qualifying product?

I don't want to have to install PowerPoint 97. I know that it will make
changes to my Office 2003 installation that I would prefer not to have made.

Thanks for your help.

No, at worst you will need to insert the CD from your earlier version to
prove you qualify.

However, since you already have Office 2003 installed, I doubt that \you
will be asked.

All you should have to do is insert the qualifying CD into caddy, and the
installation routine
should recognize it.

Got my copy of Powerpoint 2003 upgrade and installed it. I asked for the CD
for a qualifying product. I inserted the CD for Office97 SBE and the
insallation proceeded.

Thanks for your help.
