Powerpoint 2004 Handouts Blurry.

I'm using office 2004 (latest patch) and creating some handouts using
the "bold stripe" design. In full color mode the text and images (and
stripes) on the 2 per page handout layout are slightly blurry. The
outline around the slide is sharp on the left side but blurry on the
top, bottom and right side. The printer is a Ricoh CL4000DN.

In greyscale mode, the images (on all slides) are blurry and the title
side is similar to the color sides explained above.

Is there a fix for this or an option to print at higher resolution?

Thx

Hi,

Is this happening with all presentations or just ones based on "bold
stripe"?

The phenomenon occurs on each design type. Further investigation shows
that if text is over an image the blurred effect occurs to the text.
Images in general show this blur effect everywhere.

On overhead size print outs the effect is "minor". There is a column
of red (one or two pixels in width) on the left side and a column of
blue on the right of an image or font that is over an image. Like an
unwanted shadow effect. On handouts the same 1 to 3 pixal shadow blurs
the text and images.

Perhaps this is a % transparency issue that office compatibility coughs
about?

On the PC, the problem was that the PCL type drivers didn't handle the
job correctly and the fix was use PostScript drivers for the color
laser printer. Mac drivers ARE PS....

I would just like the presentation to come out sharp without haveing to
resort to black and white...

This sounds like a printer driver problem rather than a PowerPoint
problem. Did you try the same presentation on a different model printer?
