My wife had to sell her Mac beacuse in Office v.X, she could not use
"xml" in PPT, but she could on a PC running Office. Has this been
corrected in 2004?

Hi Tony,

PowerPoint 2004 does not generate or open XML files.

There may be a work-around if you tell us what she is trying to accomplish
and how she is trying to do it.

I will have to ask her. She gets back tonight. Do you know if you
can do that in the Windows version? There was something she could do
in the windows version that she could not do on the Mac. I will get
more details for you.

She needs Active X. I know it had X in there somewhere. Do you know
if the 2004 can andle active X. The PC version has been able to do it
for a while.

Hi Tony,

Active-X is a technology from the "Open Source" community that has not been
ported to the Macintosh platform.

Consequently, nothing that uses Active-X will work on a Mac. There is almost
always a non-Active-X workaround, which is probably why Active-X has not
been ported.

For the rare occasion she needs Active-X she could install Virtual PC...
