PowerPoint 2007 Custom Animation

In PowerPoint 2007 Beta 2, the custom animation option is VERY slow. When I
double click on an object's custom animation to adjust the delay and so on,
it takes for ever for it to come up and the computer is really slow while it
tries to get this opened up. (Sometimes it takes as long as 10 seconds.)
It didn't suffer from this slow of performance in Office XP. Anyone else
notice how slow the custom animation option is?

WD 80GB IDE 2MB cache HD
WD 120GB IDE 8MB cache HD
Windows XP Home Edition SP2

Never mind. Laugh if you want. It was because the autopreview was on, and
I just couldn't see the autopreview because other objects were over the
object that was animating.

I have the autopreview on, and I'm not seeing the same kind of slowness,
Travis. It might be a video driver issue -- I figure the video card mfgs
will all come out with new drivers as Office 2007 is released, and I suspect
that might help.

Also, see if turning your hardware acceleraration down helps. See How to set
graphics hardware acceleration back http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00129.htm for
instrux.

Well, you see it was still previewing the animation, so that's why it
wouldn't respond, unless you still think this is not normal behavior... I
wouldn't think my X1600 PRO would be the issue unless like you said, the
drivers. This card isn't a weak card, and I bought intentionally so I could
run Aero Glass well when the public Vista Beta 2 comes out.

Ahhh, gotcha. I didn't get that part.

No, it's a good card. I was just thinking the drivers might need to be
updated for Office 2007. But it seems not.
