Powerpoint 2007 Hyperlinks

Is there a way to have hyperlinks created in 2007 work in earlier version?
Saved a slide presentation as .pps but link doesn't work when running show.

There are 20 hyperlinks from one slide to another. Created buttons with
Powerpoint. Click button to go to specific slide and then button to return to
previous slide.

Selected object, Insert Hyperlink, Place in document, selected slide.

For some reason links do not work when presentation opened through CD-RW.

Not able to burn presentation directly to CR-RW as it states the CD is not
writeable. Had to Publish, send to folder, then burn to CD-RW.

There are no other links. Just the 20. How many links are permitted? How do
you find out how much space they are taking? So every time I save a 2007
presentation to CD it will save as earlier version which means they will not
recognize the links?
