powerpoint 2007 keyboard problems

using powerpoint 2007 on Vista. On occasion the bottom right part of my
keyboard goes weird. Instead of an apostrophe I get an e with an accent.
instead of a < I get the apostrophe, instead of > I get quotation.
I am using a logitech wireless keyboard, but it's fine in other programs.
I have used the restore defaults button in my logitech keyboard software.

Strictly a wild guess but try this:

Office button | PowerPoint Options | Advanced

Under Editing options, see if there's a check next to "Automatically
switch
keyboard to match language of surrounding text"

If so, uncheck it then press OK.

See if the problem goes away.

In addition to what Steve said: There's a keyboard language setting in
Regional Options in Vista's Control panel. De-activate any other language
apart from the language you intend to use. Or at least de-activate the
shortcut key to toggle languages (on a German keyboard that's Shift+Alt or
Shift+Ctrl).

Best regards,
Ute

Thanks for your suggestions Steve and Ute. I did check these out and both things suggested were already as you suggested. The problem is intermittent. It was okay earlier today, then back again with the same keys, but they had changed to other things. The only thing constant was the accented e.

Today I closed the file, opened it again, and everything was fine. I don't
know whether that was the case before. Thank you

Do you use any Add-Ins? If so, temporarily disable them and see, if
PowerPoint behaves better.

I did have one add-in which I've disabled. I'll let you know if the problem
persists.

Thanks,
