PowerPoint 2007 Keyboard will not work But Mouse does work

I was trying to enter text into a box in a presentation .. I responded to a
popup about underlining ... now my mouse works but the keyboard will repeat a
single letter iiiiiiiii or enters letters very slowley ... I went to Excell
as a test and I can not enter anything into a cell .... Should I reload
PowerPoint an get back to the default settings?? I am a new PowerPoint
user... Thanks in advance for the help!!!
