PowerPoint 2007

Hello all!

I work at a couple of hotels in the area as an audiovisual tech, and we'll
be obtaining a laptop soon with Powerpoint 2007 installed... I came across a
possible problem with its functionality.

Using a wireless USB remote, when importing PowerPoint presentations from
previous versions of Powerpoint (2003), the slides would not advance or go
backwards; the mouse would still move when using the mouse feature on our
remtoe.

Using the same USB remote, with a presentation created in Powerpoint 2007,
the slides would advance and reverse when hitting those buttons.

Are there any tricks we should know of to get this to work correctly with
importing presentatiosn from prior versions of Powerpoint as well as having
presentations created in the newest version of Powerpoint? I spent a good 30
minutes trying to figure this out... Thanks!

Should not be a problem unless the remote has non-standard programming.
PPT2007 uses the same advance/back keys as previous versions (arrow keys,
page up/down, N/P). I use a few different remotes and have not had an issue.
Any possibility of trying the same remote on another computer with PPT2007
to eliminate the computer as the problem.

Hi Robert

Have you considered saving your 2003 powerpoint files as 2007 files? That
should avoid the problem.

Nope. We've only got this one laptop available onsite with PPT2007
installed. It operates correctly on other computers, all with Office 2003
installed.

How is that done? Import 2003 powerpoints into 2007 powerpoint and save as a
2007 powerpoint file? If so, next time I'm able to use the computer, I'll try
it. If not, let me know!

Thansk!
